OuR little "EVA"

Ever since Paisley's episode, we have to keep her wee hands wrapped up with medicine and gauze. On top of that i put on mittens or socks to keep it protected. BUT, I think she looks so cute with her hands wrapped up nice and tight; making her look like Eva from Wall-E.(NOtice the striking resemblance to Eva's fingerless apendages !) THe good news is Paisley's digitless stumps prohibit her from putting ANYTHING she finds on the ground directly into her mouth. i.e dust balls, trash, alluminum foil, rubberbands, old food crumbs, coins and toys. Thus making MY life a little easier. On the other "hand"(no pun intended), She gets frustrated because she literally cannot pick anything up. Also, when she falls, she cant get up because it hurts her little hands and she just cries :( THe hardest part is cleaning the burns 2-3 times a day... not fun. ANYWAY- all in all, things are lookin up...And here's our little "eeee-EEEE-VA" !!!

Poor little girl! I hope things are getting better and she is healing ok! Don't feel like a bad mother, things like this happen to EVERYONE! Now, if you told her to "tough it out" then you could be placed under the bad mommy category. I wish I was there to help you, give that little girl a kiss from her cousins in Tucson.

Ash you are such a good mommy. Please dont be hard on yourself. Its a good thing she is so dang cute, She doesnt need hands. Im sure it is not an easy thing cleaning those burns. She probably doesnt hold still for long.

Ash, I love your commentary! Its so dang funny! Im so sorry about Paisley. But of course, there is always good amongst the bad.. ie not picking things up and putting it in her mouth. Im amazed at what Matthew finds. I hope she and mom start feeling better soon. btw, i started that new job, and work all day. I can call during lunch breaks and stuff. I'll give it a try this week.

Poor little baby! I haven't been blog checking because I've been working so much lately so today was the first day I heard about this. This must be so hard for Paisley. A baby without little fingers is not a happy baby. Do not beat yourself up . . . these things happen and kids are just too darn fast. The good thing is she is young and hopefully not remember it.

Ash, she just looks like a boxer! Let me tell you what, boxing is the bomb dot com too. It's so dang fun, Paisley's just getting a head start... When her bandages are off you'll have to get baby boxing gloves, she'll love em. Even if she doesn't understand why her fingers are sore sometimes, she looks very happy and knows her mommy loves her! Don't worry, babies have survived MUCH worse. You should hear all the stuff I've done to mine!

I'm so sorry this happened to such a sweet girl and a sweet Mommy! The road to recovery sounds hard but the worst is over. One good thing is she will never remember it!
