DADS... You've been spotlighted!!!

Just wanted to take a moment and share a few of the reasons why we love our dads so MUCH!! Hope you enjoy these fun things you may not know about our great dads!


MY DAD...
he truly is one of the funniest people I've ever met; and it is because i GET his HUMOR. (it takes a special person) ;) He's very sarcastic, and goofy. A lot of people have a difficult time distinguishing when he's joking and when he's serious.(Wes is one of those people!)

He wants everyone to feel like they're his favorite... I am the oldest child and only girl. Therefore, i am his "FAVORITE DAUGHTER", my younger brother is his "FAVORITE OLDEST SON", and my youngest brother is his "FAVORITE YOUNGEST SON". and Wes is his "FAVORITE SON IN LAW". I'm not sure how he's going to keep everyone straight once the family gets bigger with more in laws and grand kids.(I'm sure he'll figure it out!)

The running joke in our family is that my dad is "CLARK GRISWALD" from Chevy Chase's "Christmas vacation". My dad has an odd and hilarious history of hysterical bad luck, (its funny.)

My dad has a major sweet tooth. He's always up for a treat or a cold mountain dew.

He takes some things really seriously. Recently my little brothers band was entered in a big contest and my dad was the numero uno contributor to all the votes they received! He REALLY wanted them to win.

He lived in Japan when he was little, and was a male model for a while... his claim
to FAME for sure!

My dad tells me i have "white girl disease." Translation..., i cant dance. I quickly remind him where i get my moves... you can probably guess that they"re from him! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree folks, i assure you.

He absolutely LOVES paisley. He thinks she is perfect and can do no wrong. What are grandpa's for, right?!

My dad was a great swimmer back in the day and is now swimming in a masters club for adults.

My dad has a tender heart and a genuine concern for others.

His perfect vacation takes place at the Beach. He can honestly sit there and relax all day long! We have been going to California's beaches since I was born and have great memories there!

He also loves cage fighting... we give him a hard time about it!

He loves his family and has always worked so hard for us.

When i was little my dad asked me one time "sis, how much do you love your dad?" My reply was "pennies around the world". I don't know where i got that, but i know i've been saying it ever since. Thanks for being so wonderful daddy.

Next is PAPA JIM (Wes's Dad)

I can honestly say that Papa Jim is the BEST father in law in the whole world !!

When Wes went on his mission he asked his dad to check up on me from time to time...actually, ALL the time. Often in his emails he would ask his dad to call me...so he would. I call him "dad", because it comes so naturally. He has been a second dad to me since Wes and I started dating so long ago.

Papa Jim is very kind and loving. We often get phone calls from him just to see how we're doing.

He sees the good in everyone and everything... a great quality of his that i love.

The Wright Family has been known to have their own "biggest loser" competition. When family members inquire as to whether Jim will participate, his response is always the same; "why would I need to do something like that?" We love SLIM JIM'S CONFIDENCE!!!! (dad, you look great. really!)

I'm pretty sure every time I've seen him, he's had that great big smile on his face. He's got the "JACK WRIGHT SMILE".

His happiness is contagious. He can make ANYONE smile before you can count to 3 !

He is the dad of TEN children, has 3 daughters in law and 4 grand kids. All of whom LOVE him more than anything.

He makes killer STEAKS! We would never miss a sunday dinner when he's grillin Steak!

He always plans fun family night activities. The younger kids keep him on his toes with that!


He LOVES LOVES LOVES Disneyland... it's their family's favorite vacation together, and it's an amazing trip I must say! Last year they went with everyone and Wes and I were in Nebraska and unable to go. I literally was so sad that I cried when we couldn't go. If you've ever been with them, you would understand!

When he gets excited or happy, he rubs his hands together REALLY REALLY fast!-- you've gotta see him do it!

He loves to play the game "i love you because"... he's great at making sure we all feel loved.... AND WE LOVE HIM!

One of the reasons I married Wes was because I could see him turning out like his dad one day!! Its something Wes is constantly shooting for. (it may take a while; good thing we have eternity!)

AND last, but certainly not least... MY HUSBAND.

I couldn't have married anyone more perfect for me than Wes. One of the many reasons why i married him was that I knew what an OUTSTANDING dad he would be. And my predictions were correct. He is a great dad and loves Paisley more than anything.

Wes is a great helper with Paisley. Whenever we're going somewhere he always gets her in the car. This is a HUGE help seeing as I'm still trying to remember the sippy cup, diapers and snacks for wherever we're headed.

Wes is the happiest person I've ever met.(another reason why i married him). A great quality that will serve our family well. It has already shown in our little girl. She is very happy and hilarious.

Wes and I have family dance parties. Just the 3 of us in our little apartment in Nebraska. Its a great time. If you know wes at all He's got some SERIOUSLY good moves. Lets just say we hope Paisley takes after her dad's rhythm. I'm as white as all get out!

Wes is a romantic. He has always been the one to do clever gift giving. He many times will write a witty poem and stick it on the fridge or the bathroom mirror.
He wrote a note on a paper towel one time and taped it to our bed post. i think it stayed there for the better part of a year just because it made me happy.

He has a genuine concern for others happiness, especially his family.

He is a food connoisseur. lets just leave it at that.

He always tells me that I'm the BEST wife he's ever had. Kind of obvious seeing as I'm the ONLY wife he's ever had.

He tells me numerous times a day how much he loves me.

His favorite movie is WILLOW...(gag). Whenever city slickers is on t.v, he watches it. Even if its 3 nights in a row that its on. But he actually enjoys chick flicks. And he would never be embarrassed to admit to liking a girly movie.

He honestly is Kelly Clarksons biggest fan. Last week he asked if i could get her to sing at his birthday party this year.

Wes wrote a letter to Oprah trying to get on her show. True story.

He swears sometimes just for humor purposes; 10 times out of 10 its funny. He also has the best "that's what she said " jokes.

I could go on, but will just end by saying how lucky i am to have a husband who is such a great dad to our little girl.

Wes, you never cease to amaze me. your love and happiness shines in your daughter.
