Well Hello again. It has been a very interesting two months to say the least. On Jan. 30th Wes had "minor" back surgery to fix a herniated disc. Wes was very concerned about how quickly he could return to school. The doc told him he should be back in a matter of days. Surgery went fine and Wes returned to school after only 3 days. Everything appeared wonderful. Then it happened. Back spasms. Picture if you will, a 300 plus pound man screaming and whailing in pain as the muscles in his back constrict and simply refuse to relax. The best thing we can compare it to would be contractions a woman experiences during labor. Ok, now that you can comprehend the pain, imagine wes having back LABOR for a MONTH and contractions lasting usually 10 minutes on and off daily with NO epidural in sight!!! It finally got so bad that we landed in the E.R. where we were told that the answer was to "GET UP AND moVE". The doctor refused to listen when we explained that movement caused spasms, and he COULD NOT move if he was spasming. I wanted to karate chop that fool in the face... really I did. I finally said to the doctor that it was impossible for my body to support that of my husband, and what the hell was I supposed to do if he fell!? Still, he was ignorant. To make a LONG story short; 2 nights later an ambulance took Wes to the hospital at 3 in the morning, where he then stayed for 5 nights. And then to an inpatient rehab center for another 3 nights. He is home now and is looking forward to a month of physical therapy to make him strong once again.
Other news: During this malay, both of Paisleys Grandmas were able to come out and help us. We LOVED having them here and wish they could have stayed forever! We also want to thank all of our friends here in Nebraska and Arizona for their love and support. Wes and I have truly been blessed to meet some AMAZING people out here. We couldn't have done this alone that's for sure.
So what about LAW SCHOOL you ask?... After MUCH thought Wes and I decided it would be best for him to take a medical leave from school. (and besides that, his back problems wouldn't have allowed him to be there. Not even now). The school was very cooperative and Wes will pick up right where he left off in the spring of 2010. Gosh that seems like a long time, but we have a lot to do in making sure that Wes is healthy and strong for starting school again. These next months are dedicated to a healthy lifestyle for all of us in this home!
Last Monday we celebrated our 3RD ANNIVERSARY! Here's to many more!!!!

Ash! What a lame doctor! I'm so sorry you've had to go through all this craziness. You are amazing! Please let me know what I can do to help. I'll babysit your adorable little girl anytime! :)
Hey girl, I know I am here in Arizona and you are all the way in Nebraska but I have some serious experience with doctors and health insurance. Please do not even think of hesitating to call if you have any questions regarding such things. I mean it! Also I have some serious connections when it comes to cute baby girl things like bracelets and head bows and such. If new things of that nature would totally cheer you up even a little just let me know what colors you'd like them in. Seriously, I know you probably don't have much time and I'd love to help anyway I can. Remember, It's not asking for help, it's you giving me the opportunity to receive blessings from serving. :-)
Love you.
SO glad you are back. I was beginning to worry! And so I should have! I hate ER doctors. they make me SO mad. Glad all is well and that things are going okay now. Love and miss all of you. Tell Wes I'll cook for him next time I see him or I'll fedex some food to Nebraska!
